I am going to get over feeling modest and awkward announcing to the world that today is my birthday. I am working on being honest about what I need. I need to know that I have friends and I am loved. Check.
Birthday celebration started yesterday. My students celebrated, we were treasuring diversity. I was sung to in two languages, which really makes me happy. My staff sung to me. I made some friendships stronger. Then, my sister and her husband went to see "Hunger Games" with me. I cried too many times during the movie.
Today, I will enjoy working outside while listening to General Conference. I will watch basketball tournament later and have dinner with friends. Tomorrow, family and friends will come over and I will be surrounded by people who love me. Check. Then, I will spend the rest of the week on Spring Break- a break from stress of work. Super check.

Hunger Games vs. Twilight
I am quite annoyed that people have been comparing "Twilight" to "Hunger Games." It is comparing apples and oranges. Twilight is fantasy book and Hunger Games is science fiction book. Twilight is about a girl who is having a hard time picking between two guys. Hunger Games is about a girl who is protects her family and her sister. Now, she has to survive in the "forced" hunger games to the death. REALLY!
Bella vs. Katniss (whiny indecisive boy crazed girl vs. tom-boy strong kick butt focused girl) REALLY!
I am going to compare Hunger Games to Star Wars or Harry Potter because people dressed up and went to midnight showing. I can't do that because they are different as well.
Side note: Books are taking over the film industry. It is exciting to see how children and young adult books have so much influence on the world.
