This weekend, I was able to attend the Sat. afternoon session of General Conference with some friends. We were in the front row of the plaza section so there was a walkway in front of us. I love to people watch. I noticed a middle aged woman walked by with a beautiful diamond brooch (like a firework.) I commented on it to my friends, then the lady walked by again. I had to tell her that I like her brooch. I stopped her and I told her that I loved her brooch. She thanked me and I noticed she had a southern accent, she was from South Carolina (I am from North Carolina.) She explained to me why she bought the brooch. She thought it looked like the palmetto tree. Those that don't know that the palmetto tree is on the South Carolina flag. I understood and noted that she was wearing a blue background just like the flag. We laughed and thanked me and went on her way.

My friends were laughing at me after the lady left. They couldn't believe that I would stop a random stranger. It is normal for me because I am a southerner.

The South WILL rise again you know! Yeah, I don't have a southern accent but I like to talk to random strangers too.
jill (your favorite sister, heheh:)
Sweet. I guess that means I would fit right in in the South. I do this ALL the time, much to the chagrin or dismay of my sisters or those with me. :) We should hang out more! what would people think of us?!
Awesome Rachel. You know that you made her day don't you?! :D
