The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.
You must find time to read these books. I read the Hunger Games. It reminded me of The Giver and Fahrenheit 451, but better. Then, I found out there was a second book and engulfed Catching Fire. I am still in the book. I have had dreams about Katniss and her adventures and struggle. I have stayed up late reading these books. There is a third and final book in this series that comes out August. I don't know if I can wait that long. It is not just the story and great parallels of society, but excellent writing and great complex, real characters. Enough, both books have been on the best sellers list. I am not the only one WHO LOVED IT!

her storytelling is so compelling, I was sucked into both books in the first 2 pages and felt just like you did - I was so engulfed in the books and loved them!

I read these books too--after much nagging from a friend. I was sure I wouldn't like them--it sounded too "science fiction" and maybe too much like "Lord of the Flies". It wasn't and they are amazing. I, too, can't wait until August. I hear they are thinking of making a movie out of them--but I'll take the books any time!!

you dream about Katniss, too?! Good!! I'm not the only total nerd who dreams for DAYS, literally DAYS, after reading these two books! Who has the 3rd on order from Amazon already? That would be me!
