So last weekend, my neighbor invited myself and two of the older men who were our neighbors. (one is a widower and another has a home bound wife, both are in their 80's). Since they are retired, they are also are neighborhood watch program. We had dinner and were chatting. I was not feeling good and started the process of cleaning up. The widower said, "Let's chew the fat for awhile." I had only heard references to this phrase, I have never heard it used. I was unable to stay and "chew the fat", but I have been spent time subsequently chewing the fat with my neighbors.
My new phrase for the summer- "CHEW THE FAT!"
