My love/hate relationship

I have been very involved with my new teaching job. I love/hate teaching Jr. high. It has the good, the bad, and the ugly days. I have days when I drive home exhausted and feel like I taught Rocket Science (maybe I did), days when I wish bad things on people, etc... Then, there are days when I drive home feeling like I am making a difference. I would never trade working at my school for anything.

Today, experiencing my first track and field meet (as a assistant coach), I was proud and annoyed at the same time. Some of my students forgot to bring gym clothes and running shoes to the track meet (yesterday they were reminded to bring their stuff). Then, you see the joy on their faces when they give their best and do well and the excitement in their faces on their accomplishments. The excitement of riding on the bus to the meet, feeling their nerves, then to ride home as they sing and dance (if they win or lose).
